Chateau du Pin has a long history. Archaelogical evidence reveals a foundation of a building that dates back to the 12th century. The main wing dates to the 16th century, and joins to another wing that was added in the 19th century. This architectural gem needs protection and care. It needs new windows. Chateau du Pin is registered as a Monument Historique. This designation requires heeding specific architectural standards. Most of the windows on the ground and first floor have 32 panes when restored to historically correct standards. The chateau’s large windows cost 3500 Euros each and are hand crafted by a regional artisan. The original hardware is restored and reused. Of the 123 windows in the chateau, we are prioritizing those in most need of repair in the main wing of the house. In recent years, we have restored eighteen windows in principle rooms, three exterior doors, and have on order 2 tower windows.
Join us in meeting the challenge of restoring 3 windows in the southeast corner of the chateau and the window in the Blue Room bathroom.
Pane by pane we look to restore the view.
Please consider giving the amount that is right for you. And thank you!
