Photographs, letters and documents marooned in drawers, closets and trunks, on both sides of the Atlantic, telegraph some of the 100 year history of Famille Gignoux at Chateau du Pin. For several years, we have been chasing down these artifacts to fuel a video that offers a glimpse into the twined threads of Family, Farm, Garden and Home that is Le Pin. In August 2021, we were given Letters and Essays 1931-1934, from the Buck Family archive in Quincy, Massachusetts. This unexpected treasure helped illuminate daily life at the chateau from the point of view of the tutor, Mr. Buck, and the young Gignoux children in his care.
